Objectives
- To review/update Knowledge that enables the analysis and application of current legal regulations, whether within the framework of land use planning and urbanism, or within the framework of real estate and registration rights.
- To interpret and understand territorial management instruments.
- To introduce the basic concepts of geodesy, reference systems, and map projections.
- To introduce concepts of cartography, interpretation, and analysis of topographic maps.
- To transmit knowledge that enables the performance of topographic surveys (classical methods and positioning techniques).
- To train individuals in the handling of various types of surveying equipment.
- To enable the analysis, manipulation, and processing of geographic information in digital format.
- To introduce the concepts and functionalities of SNIC (National Cadastral Information System).
- To enable the design, modeling, and integration of data in the context of a land registry operation.
Operating Mode
The course will take place from September 7, 2026 to January 30, 2027, between two and four days per week, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The course includes assessment.

Note: The tuition fee for this course may be paid in 10 instalments, the first upon enrolment and the remaining ones in October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May and June. * In accordance with Decree-Law No. 36/2014, as amended by Decree-Law No. 62/2018, of 6 August, international students are considered to be nationals of a state that is not a member of the European Union and who have not been legally residing in Portugal for more than two years, uninterruptedly, as of 1 January of the year in which they wish to enter higher education.
