I am a senior lecturer at the School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism (ESGHT), University of the Algarve (Portugal), where I have been teaching, in the Languages department, since 1993. I have a PhD in Applied Linguistics from Lancaster University (UK), specialising in critical discourse analysis and identity. My recent research has focused on links between language(s), discourse and tourism in their multiple facets. I am a researcher at CiTUR – Centre for Tourism Research, Development and Innovation (Portugal). I am currently co-editor of the academic journal European Journal of Tourism, Hospitality and Recreation (EJTHR) and co-coordinator of the CL-UAlg (Language Centre at the University of the Algarve).
