Ana Rita Zarcos Carrasco
AR Carrasco is an Assistant Researcher at CIMA/ Universidade do Algarve, since 2018. She holds an Environmental Engineering Degree (in 1997), an MSc degree in Water and Coastal Management (in 2006) and a PhD in Marine Geology Marine, Earth and Environmental Sciences (in 2012). She has been 100% devoted to scientific research in coastal dynamics, although recent research interests triggered the physical and ecological interactions occurring the coastal zone. She is a well-established researcher in coastal ecosystems (salt marshes) with focus on coastal processes and management, and coastal ecosystem conservation, in a multidisciplinary context. She was involved in past in several international and national scientific projects , covering a wide range of scientific topics such as beach morphodynamics, estuarine evolution, inlet dynamics, storm impacts, and wave modelling. She is currently participating in three national projects about coastal dynamics, as investigator, and a LIFE project, also as investigator.
