University of Algarve has just launched a new portal
The University of Algarve’s (UAlg) new website is now online.
Among the website’s main new features is an area of highlights, where all academic information, current news and events can be found, as well as a “super menu” for quick and assertive navigation, among other features, can be easily consulted, providing a better browsing experience for users, With an operative search engine, the entire range of courses is now more accessible for segmented consultation.
In order to ensure greater visibility of teaching staff and schools, personalised pages have been created with their own identity within the “architecture” of the portal as a whole.
This restructuring also focused on visuals. Following the latest web design trends, it was developed in drupal 8.9, in a responsive version in order to adapt to mobiles, facilitating its navigation on all mobile devices.
For André Botelheiro, coordinator of the Communication Office at the University of Algarve, «the new portal ualg.pt sought to incorporate the institution's DNA. Using a young but bold graphic language, centred on the user, it provides a browsing experience with an emphasis on simplicity and originality of solutions. Without forgetting the content that pours life into our campus, and which is highly valued by everyone who wants to “study where you live well”, all the information is made available in a bilingual format (Portuguese and English)». As a result of the intense internal work, the Communication Office team had the support and experience of an external consultant for the development and programming.
