Commemorative Ceremony for UAlg Day will take place online

On 16th December, at 6 pm, the “Commemorative Ceremony of the UAlg Day” will take place. This year, for the first time, the ceremony will not take place in person due to the circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, so only speakers will be present and will be broadcast online.

The ceremony will begins with a speech by Vítor Neto, chair of the UAlg Board of Directors.

This will be followed by the delivery of the University Medal to employees who complete 25 years of service at the Institution.

Graça Rafael, an employee of the Social Action Services, will continue the ceremony with an intervention on behalf of non-teaching staff.

With the support of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, the University of Algarve Prize will be awarded to graduates with merit in the academic year 2018/2019.

Later, Raquel Jacob, president of the Academic Association, will speak on behalf of the students.

After the presentation by the "New Doctors UAlg", Cátia Martins, professor at the School of Human and Social Sciences, will speak on behalf of the professors.

The ceremony will draw to a close with a thank you to employees and teachers who retired in 2020, and then rector Paulo Águas will end the ceremony celebrating the 41st anniversary of the University of Algarve with a speech.
